Why Curators & Artists BOTH Love Us

Modern problems require modern solutions.

That is why Playlist IQ was created to solve the biggest headaches both artists & playlist curators have.

Here are the biggest complaints artists have with other playlist network sites:

1. They hate paying for feedback then hearing something like this from the curator, "Your song was great and really well done; unfortunately, it doesn't really fit my list."

2. They hate paying to submit to a group of curators and not receiving any streams from it.

3. They hate paying for a pitching service & ending up on playlists they think don't fit their song.

Here are the biggest complaints from playlist owners:

1. Curators hate not being able to properly monetize their list & being restricted to charging pennies for feedback even when their playlist is very popular.

2. Curators hate wasting time on hours of submissions whenever artists don't actually have a budget for promotion.

3. Curators don't feel like coming up with a novel for each review they have to write in order to get paid. They would just prefer to get paid more for the songs that fit their list & help that list gain in popularity.

And so, Playlist IQ was born!

Here's why artists love it:

1. Artists can receive an initial (interest level) response from curators for free! No more wasting your budget on lists that aren't interested.

2. Artists get to select which of those interested lists to assign their budget to for feedback & scheduling.

3. Artists can see estimated streaming predictions for each list they submit to. (Streaming predictions are made via our AI-assisted proprietary algorithm based on hundreds of real data points).

4. Artists will receive a playlisting schedule at the same time they receive feedback. While the playlist curator is being paid for the feedback they write, they are also being held accountable for the answer they gave the artist during their initial review.

I.e. We ask the curators to give a playlisting schedule NOT because the artist is paying to get on the list, but because they said they were interested in putting the song on their list during the initial free review!

Here's why curators love it:

1. Curators can set their own prices for each list on their profile over 100 followers.

2. Curators can see the budget a campaign has prior to giving any initial responses for a song.

3. Curators can use our AI technology to quickly see the song genre, mood, energy, engineering quality, language and lyrical content before ever listening to the song. This enables an extremely efficient review process.

4. Curators can also use AI-assisted technology to write a unique final feedback an artist will receive.

Give it a try for yourself to experience the power of Playlist IQ!

What Curators Are Saying

So far, so good!

"I have multiple playlists in various genres. I like the way Recordlabel.ai lets me give an initial, quick reaction to a track. This means things tend to be targeted much better down the line, and therefore results are better... I am impressed, and I like the "out of the box" thinking."

"As a playlist curator, this site is extremely helpful in making my job efficient and effective in finding new music. I am always looking for new Latin pop music, and this site allows artists to really filter where they want to send their music to so their money doesn't go to waste and my time doesn't either. Also, as a curator, payouts took only a few minutes once initiated."

Frequently Asked Questions

Playlist IQ Curator FAQ's

How does this work & how do curators get paid?

Our submissions are broken down into 2 stages:

1) Initial Interest Level Responses From Curators (A quick multiple choice answer the curator gives saying if they're interested in the song or not)

2) Paid Detailed Feedback Responses From Curators (A certain amount of words that must be given as feedback to the artist)

Both stages are maximized for efficiency using AI-assistants and bulk processing

How long you have to review depends on the order speed the artist selects.

There are Standard campaigns and RUSH campaigns.

If an artist chooses a RUSH campaign, then they pay different amounts depending on how fast the curator responds.

The artist pays:

- 4 credits if a curator gives an initial response within 12 hours of submission

- 3 credits if a curator gives an initial response within 24 hours of submission

- 2 credits if a curator gives an initial response within 48 hours of submission

- 1 credit if a curator gives an initial response within 72 hours of submission

- 0 credits for responses after 72 hours, but curators can still respond with quotes for detailed feedback.

For standard campaigns, curators do not receive extra credits for giving initial interest level responses, but can still earn credits for the detailed paid feedback (which curators set their own prices for) if the artist chooses your list to allocate budget to.

After the artist chooses which playlists to assign budget to from the initial responses, then curators are given 3 days to provide detailed feedback on paid submissions. After that, the artist gets credited back the funds automatically if not answered in that time frame.

TLDR

Curator payment on Rush Campaigns: Curator is paid rush fee to give initial interest response + detailed feedback fee (price is set by the curator) if artist chooses your list to allocate final budget to.

Curator payment on Standard Campaigns: Curator gives initial interest review for free + earns detailed feedback fee if artist chooses your list to allocate final budget to.

Payouts are given promptly within 1 business day after requesting to your PayPal email address.

Which playlists of mine are eligible?

All playlists grown organically or through advertising that have at least 100 followers are eligible for our system.

You will have control over which of your lists enter our system whenever you initially tag them & set your prices.

We have a strict no bots policy, so if we see a playlist having unusual activity we will bar it from our system.

How much time per week would I need to dedicate to Playlist IQ?

This depends on how many submissions you receive; however, we do have bulk processing and AI-assistants available throughout the platform to significantly increase efficiency vs other platforms.

For example, other website force curators to listen to at least 90-120 seconds of song to receive payment. We know that most curators can listen to 15 seconds of song to decide if they like it if they already have the lyrics, genre, mood, energy level, etc. of a track.

This increases your speed to review by 6-10X.

Also, while other platforms make you type every single word for a review, we have AI-assistants to help you write the perfect feedback for songs, speeding up your detailed feedback time by 10-50X.

Combine this with bulk processing (answering by 5-15 at a time instead of 1 by 1) and this significantly decreases the amount of time spent reviewing music & writing feedback.

How much can I charge for feedback on a single playlist?

You are able to set 3 prices for feedback for each playlist (Low, Medium, High).

Each feedback level is correlated with a certain amount of words that must be given to the artist about their song.

You are free to use or AI-assistant to help write feedback inside the platform or to write the feedback yourself if desired.

The maximum feedback price is $999 for a single song.

If you do not know what pricing to give your playlists, our system will auto-suggest pricing whenever you are first tagging your playlists at this link https://recordlabel.ai/curator/tag-playlists/.

Why would artists pay more for feedback on Playlist IQ?

Artists are comfortable paying more for detailed feedback because curators have already expressed interest in their song from the initial response given!

While artists are paying for the feedback, curators are expected to give playlist placement schedules when writing their detailed feedback since the curator already expressed interest in the song during the initial answer.

IMPORTANT: It is not mandatory for the curator to place songs on their playlist. The artist is paying for detailed feedback & this remains compliant with Spotify T.O.S.

However, a curator's Trust Score can be impacted on the platform if they answer they are interested in a song during the initial response but do not end up placing the song on their playlist after the detailed feedback payment is given.

This maintains that payment is being given for feedback; however, the curator is not being consistent with their word. Thus, the artist can report this behavior & have the curator's Trust Score impacted so that other artists who would submit in the future can be aware.

There would be no refund to the artist since the payment is indeed for the feedback, but the Trust Score of the curator would be negatively impacted given they are not keeping their word.

Is this just for Spotify playlist curators?

Yes. Right now, this system is built for Spotify playlists only. We will consider other platforms in the future.

If I own multiple Spotify channels can I submit more than one?

Yes! After your application is approved, you can submit additional channels you own inside your curator dashboard here: https://recordlabel.ai/curator/tag-playlists/.

This maximizes efficiency by receiving all your submissions in one place.

Our Spotify Connections technology also enables you to put songs directly on playlists from different channels you own from inside the app instead of having to manually place them on Spotify.

The Spotify Connection is optional & you can still join without connecting your account directly to the platform.

However, it does increase production & efficiency when connected.

Will I have to connect my Spotify account to the platform?

No, it is not mandatory to connect your Spotify account.

The application ensures that you actually own the account, but you will not need to connect your account directly to the platform if you don't want to.

Our Spotify Connections technology does enable you to put songs directly on playlists from different channels you own from inside the app instead of having to manually place them on Spotify.

Thus, it would be beneficial for many playlist owners to connect their accounts to maximize efficiency.

However, it is ultimately up to you.

What type of genres are artists submitting?

We aspire for a solid mix of all genres! Our platform is built for all of them.

Can I contact artists outside of the platform?

Contacting artists for payment outside of the platform violates our terms & can result in your removal from the system.

Our team has worked very hard to provide a great experience for both artists and curators.

Marketing the service cost us many resources, so we do not appreciate it whenever curators try to circumvent the system.

How much does Record Label AI get paid?

We split the feedback fee 50/50 with curators. We provide marketing to receive the submissions, research to present advanced stats to artists on playlists, and technology to allow curators to review songs quickly and efficiently.

How do you get the estimated streams?

We used a model similar to how real estate sites will come up with estimated home values by using comps.

Our team has access to stats from hundreds of different artists on Spotify. We carefully compiled this data and analyzed it for trend markers to create our algorithm for stat prediction.

Again, this is only an ESTIMATE and does NOT guarantee any particular amount of streams on the lists, but we try to make it as reliable as we can.

If you believe your list estimate is inaccurate, please contact us here

How long do I have to review submissions?

1) Initial Interest Level Responses From Curators

2) Paid Detailed Feedback Responses From Curators

Curator payment on Standard Campaigns: Curator gives initial interest review for free + earns detailed feedback fee if artist chooses your list to allocate final budget to.

How many songs will I receive per week?

This is greatly dependent on the number of lists you own, the quality of the lists, genres, and more. We want to get as many quality songs to as many quality curators as possible!

How long do I have to place the songs in my lists after accepting them?

You will have a maximum of 3 days to place the song after telling the artist that you would place it.

This is done to ensure efficiency & a great experience for all!

If you do not follow through on your word here, artists will be able to report the activity and it will affect your reputation score on the platform (thus, resulting in receiving less submissions).

How is my Trust Score calculated?

Every curator begins with a trust score of 87/100.

If you receive positive feedback from artists about the following, your trust score can increase:

- Playlisting songs on time

- Leaving songs in for the duration of time you originally agreed to

- Being active on Playlist IQ to give initial responses to submissions

If you receive negative reviews from artists, your trust score can decrease. This includes the following:

- Not being timely with scheduling approved songs for your playlists (using our in-app Spotify connection can instantly alleviate this issue)

- Having any artificial streaming activity to increase traffic to your list (this is immediate grounds for removal from the program)

- Adding songs to your list but taking them out prior to the time frame you originally agreed to

- Adding a song to your list but drastically & arbitrarily lowering its position on the list (I.e. you agreed to place a song in the top 5, but 3 days later move that song down to position 100)

If an artist reports this activity, our team will confirm the activity prior to making any changes to your Trust Score.

Should your Trust Score fall below a 70/100, you will have one final warning to right ship before removal from Playlist IQ.
